In the last week of July, Leila and I didn't go too far from Bensheim. We made brief excursions on foot into the countryside and visited by train the nearby centers of Heidelberg and Frankfurt.

And then it was all over. We went to Zürich with as much of our stuff as we could carry. Within a few days Leila was back in the US (she still had seven weeks of work to finish up there) and I began work in my new lab. No more holiday.
