Click on the images below to see larger photographs Woke up to find an unexpectedly fine day. I managed to reach Wolfgang Rubin, Mike Joyce and David Ross (despite not knowing any of the phone numbers) and tell them that climbing was on. They had each contacted me during the week, but the weather prediction was for rain. We got together at my place late in the morning and then, piling into my subaru, took off. After much negotiation/discussion en-route we stopped at Cathole Pass near Meriden. What transpired was an awesome day of great top-roping and making new friends. El-mucho-coolio. We met Lisa and Brandon, as well as Chris and Mike, who shared their ropes and lines with us (as we did ours with them) throughout the day. So we got to climb (or try to climb) the following list of routes ...
Pink Elephants (5.6) ... Wolfgang, David, Mike J Not much to say really ... go check out the photos. I didn't bother trying to lead anything. It was pretty warm (for February), the breeze was light, the sun was bright and everyone seemed to have a great time. Awesome day. I do remember that Pegasus seemed much harder than when I lead it back in October 2000 ... that had been my seventh lead. What the hell was I thinking?
