Climbing Partners ... Present
Hmmm ... I just moved to Switzerland, surely there's SOMEBODY here interested in climbing?

Climbing Partners ... Past (they are ALL still alive, and I would climb with them again ... but they don't live in Switzerland, except for Leila - but she gave up the outdoorsy stuff for the gym)

John PetersonJohn Peterson - USA - Mad, Bad and Dangerous to Know. I climbed with him on and off from the spring of 2001 to midsummer 2002. Although John is completely insane I considered him to be my climbing mentor. He has his own climbing PAGE. He is also responsible for the fact that I have a webpage of my own.
Leon IslasLeon Islas - Mexico - Maestro. Leon reawakened an interest I had in rock climbing back in late fall of 1998. By the summer of 2000 we decided to learn traditional lead climbing. He and I climbed together on thirty separate leads before he moved to Seattle (WA) in the spring of 2001. Our last ten climbs were done during a marathon cross-country adventure, the TR for that one is HERE. Leon now has his own HOMEPAGE.
James RushJames Rush - Australian - Tall, Dark and Gruesome. We gym-climb together and he started climbing outside with me in the summer of 2001. This bloke from Botany Bay has an enormous reach and he fast built the strength he needed to use it.
Luciana AndradeLuciana Andrade - Brazilian - Good thing, Small package. Lu was introduced to me through James and began climbing in the gym late in the summer of 2001 and almost immediately started rock-climbing with us. Her second-only outdoor climb was a nine-pitch marathon on Whitehorse Ledge. This Brazilian is small but her technique is strong.
Wolfgang RubinWolfgang Rubin - German - Kletternmeister. Schatzi is a cool, laid back German dude who began climbing with me in late Summer 2001. Voted "least likely to panic".
Josephine JensenJosephine Jensen - Denmark - Of Elsinore? Josephine has climbed outside with me on just a few occasions. Always ready to laugh, Josephine has always been good company.
David RossDavid Ross - USA - The Joker. This wise-cracking medical student has rapidly become a very strong climber in the gym ... now if only we could cure his fear of outdoor heights. His first outing in the real world was as a belay slave for the formidable John Peterson, an experience which has left him scarred for life.
Leila VirkkiLeila - Finland - Kaunis. She learned lead climbing with Leon and I in the summer of 2000. The fantastic Finlander climbed with me and Leon on four occasions (taking the lead on two of these) before deciding that she didn't like climbing outdoors nearly as much as she enjoyed the climbing gym.
Gary SaxGary Sax - USA - Kick Ass Climber. Gary and I met in the spring of 2001 through climbing with John. In the following summer Gary retired from work to live in Tucson (AZ), which is unfortunate for me because he and I had a similar level of proficiency and we enjoyed climbing with each other very much. We only managed to go climbing together on four occasions.
Andrei SerjantovAndrei Serjantov - Soviet Bloc - Tovaritch means Dude, dude. Although I have climbed only a few times with the mad Russian it has always been a pleasure. Andrei is a student of Computer Science at Cambridge in the UK, he got into rock climbing with John Peterson and makes occasional trips back to the USA for the odd epic. He is an active climber in the UK. Andrei's climbing PAGE.
Giovanna SerinoGiovanna Serino - Italy - Tuscany Smile. Gio is a relaxed and happy Italian lass climbed with me occasionally between late summer 2001 and early 2002. She has extensive sailing experience and, along with her wonderful warmth, brought very nice rope management skills to our climbing. She is now in Italy and still CLIMBS!
