Grading:
There will be eight homework assignments, each worth 10 points, and one final project, which will be worth 20 points. So 80% of your overall grade will come from homework assignments, and 20% from your project.
Homework Assignments:
Homework assignments will be a combination of mathematical/computational problems and programming. Each student is expected to do each assignment on his/her own — collaboration is not acceptable, unless specifically authorized — although group discussion of general concepts is OK.
Note: Late assignments are not accepted! I usually go over the solutions shortly after the assignment is due, so there’s really no time for “lateness”. The only exception is that special arrangements can be made if a proper Dean’s excuse is obtained.
